How much does a hair transplant at Mountain Man Hair Restoration cost?
Pricing is flat per package, agreed before you book, not billed per graft. Small (1,000 to 1,500 grafts) is $8,000. Medium (1,500 to 2,100 grafts) is $11,000. Large (2,100 to 3,500 grafts) is $14,000. A full beard restoration is $11,000. Which package fits is decided with Dr. John on your consult.
Is travel and lodging really included?
Partly, and we would rather be precise about it. Flights and accommodations are included up to 10% of your total case fee. On the $11,000 medium package that is $1,100 toward travel. Anything above your allowance is your responsibility.
What if I would rather book my own travel?
Then you take 10% off the case instead. A $11,000 medium package becomes $9,900, an $8,000 small package becomes $7,200, and a $14,000 large package becomes $12,600. You choose whichever works out better for where you are flying from.
How many grafts will I need?
That is determined at your consult, not before it. As a guide, the small package covers 1,000 to 1,500 grafts, medium covers 1,500 to 2,100, and large covers 2,100 to 3,500. Your package is set once Dr. John has looked at your donor area and what you want to cover.
What is the difference between a graft and a follicle?
They are not the same thing, and the difference matters when you compare quotes. A follicle grows a single hair. A graft is one naturally occurring follicular unit, which usually holds one to four hairs that grow together. Our packages are quoted in grafts, and each graft is placed the way it grew. Some clinics divide a multi-hair graft into several smaller pieces, which raises the number they can quote without adding a single hair to your head.
How do I compare a quote from another clinic?
Ask two questions. First, is the number quoted in grafts or in individual hairs? Second, does the clinic split grafts? Three thousand grafts and three thousand hairs are very different amounts of coverage. The number that decides how your result looks is how many hairs end up in the area and how they are distributed, not how many pieces they were divided into first.

Do I have to fly overseas to afford FUE?
No. That is the entire reason this practice prices the way it does. An overseas sticker price does not include your flights, your hotel, your time off work, or a provider you can sit down with again if you have a question a year later. Everything here happens in Boise, with the same person before and after.
